Home for Leprosy
The aims and objectives are to undertake educational and service activities for providing basic necessity lepers and their families. It is also to promote educational facilities to the poor students and to extend necessary medical aid to poor families.
The society has adopted a leper’s colony consisting of 158 families at Upperguda, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad. These families are provided with Medicare equipment such as crutches, shoes, spectacles etc. there are 120 children in lepers colony who are being given free education and mid-day meals. A residential school being running at Upperguda, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad. Further, the society performs marriages of lepers by providing mangalsutras, a pair of clothes and utensils.
The society has constructed 28 toilets for men and women separately and arranged a pump set for supply drinking water in this colony.
Another objective of the society is to provide necessary self supporting education to the orphans and poor children belonging to weaker sections of the society irrespective of their caste, creed and religion.
With a view to implement the aims and objectives of the society, a house bearing number MIG-141 at Bharat Nagar, Hyderabad was purchased in June 1996.
The society is providing shelter to orphans under the banner of “SSS Krupa Home” for boys. In the said premises 25 orphans are now accommodated. Besides providing shelter, food and clothing, they are also necessary education from 1st class to graduation. These children, however, are allowed to continue in the orphanage till they are settled in their lives.
Many students who are the children of the leprosy cure patients are now earning their livelihood. Old students of SSS Krupa Home have also been gainfully employed. The society has also been successful wearing away the children of leprosy cured patients for begging, and they are studying in the above schools.
